Hitting Net Zero by 2050: Our Industry’s Biggest Challenge

21/07/2022

“TC Consult is already committed to becoming fully carbon neutral in our own operations. But in 2022, our goal is to help many of our clients to meet their ESG commitments through our evolved development consultancy.” David Champs, Co-founder, TC Consult

Halving the energy use of the UK’s buildings in the next 8 years

Last year, 193 countries committed to reach carbon zero by 2050 under the Paris Agreement. For those concerned about the effect of climate change, this sustainable goal is non-negotiable. Bringing our world back to balancing point will mean making fundamental changes to the buildings where we live, work and play. It is an extremely challenging goal for those of us involved in the built environment.. Only by the combined use of new materials and products, sustainable operations and real strategic thinking will we hit that target.

Construction is a ‘carbon-greedy’ industry

At TC Consult we’ve already put sustainable best practice at the heart of our own values and operations. Our brand new London office space, which opened last year, is focussed on building a team of net zero project delivery specialists to help our clients with their challenges. We now have an expert consultancy network, which specialises in decarbonised design and carbon reduction. This puts us ahead of the game; ready to help you meet the huge challenge of making your own projects fully climate-compliant.

TC Consult’s Big Net Zero Survey

We’d like to hear from you on the net zero challenges your company faces in construction and development projects right now. The TC Consult Big Net Zero Survey takes around 5 minutes to complete, and needs to be back returned to us by 31 August 2022. We will share insights from the survey in our next newsletter.

How important is it to you or your stakeholders to achieve your ESG investment and net zero goals, and how can we support you? By understanding your own challenges, targets and concerns, we can tailor our support to help make sure we all achieve the big net zero goal by 2035.

This is a responsibility we all share. Our buildings will be greener – and so will our futures. Click here for your copy of the TC Consult Big Net Zero Survey.
